Below is the list of guys welcome to join us next weekend for closed tryouts. Thanks to all that came out this past weekend. If you’re on the list below, you should see an e-mail later today (6/3) with the details for next weekend.
Open Tryouts Details
Open Tryouts will take place on Saturday, June 1st from 9-noon and Sunday, June 2nd from 2-5 at Bossen Field Park. We are running a joint open tryout with Climax. Sub Zero is looking for team oriented players who are athletic and want to work hard for a rewarding season. On defense, we want players who can generate d’s, pressure one-on-one match-ups, and learn new approaches. On offense, we are looking for possession oriented players who make smart decisions with the disc and play as a team unit. We will follow-up with a Closed Tryout on June 8-9, these sessions will be invite only so if you cannot attend the open tryouts and would like a shot at trying out, please e-mail the captains via firstname.lastname@example.org and explain your situation.
The closed tryout session will entail a full Saturday up in Blue Ribbon Pines competing in the Surly Open. Sunday we will return to the city for the final tryout from 2-5pm. That location is still TBD by the state of the fields given all the rain we’ve been getting. We look forward to getting the season kicked off and hope to see you all out there.
Open Scrimmage and Tryouts Update
Sorry for the technical difficulties the past couple weeks, our original site was attacked by vicious malware and kicked off our host server. But, we’re back now.
As previously stated, we will be out at Bryn Mawr Saturday May 11th shaking off the thick layer of corrosion that has build up over this damned winter. We will now be playing from 11-4, and splitting up into a couple of teams for a round robin with Surly. Please come join us if you are interested in playing higher level club ultimate in the cities this year.
We will be back at Bryn Mawr again, Sunday May 19 from 2-4 for some good old pick-up. All are welcome, hope to see you out there before tryouts begin in June. Stay tuned for more tryout details in the coming weeks. We will be holding Open tryouts June 1/2 as previously stated, followed by Closed tryouts June 8/9. June 8th will be a full day experience with the Surly Open and a scrimmage later in the evening. Details to to come.
2013 Open Events and Tryouts
Sub Zero will be hosting open scrimmages on Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 19th from 2-4 at Bryn Mawr. Weather permitting, we may have a few more of these, so stay tuned. Anyone looking for a competitive game of ultimate is welcome, we are hoping to coordinate with other local teams (both open and mixed) to increase the number of opportunities for all players to be seen before a formal try-out process initiates. Again, these scrimmages are open to any players interested in playing high level ultimate for a local club team, and for those of you interested in Sub Zero, provide a number of chances to introduce yourself to the Sub Zero captains.
